I started Judo at a young age with Renshi Mines and followed with some traditional Karate, Shaolin Kung Fu, Taekwondo

Have been training in Freestyle Karate since 1994 Competing in Taekwondo, Karate and NAS (National All Styles) Tounaments.


I started my journey in Martial Arts in 1979 and have been involved ever since.

I have trained in varied styles over the years and believe that this brings a good balance and understanding to the Martial Artist.

I came across Freestyle Karate in the 90’s and found my place in the arts, while still cross training because no one has all the answers.

My teaching rank is Shihan, I hold a 5th Degree Black Belt and run two of my own Dojo’s.


Accreditation with MAIA (Martial Arts Industry Australia), Level 2 Coaching accreditation specific to Martial Arts.

South Australia’s Technical Director for NAS, National All Styles Tournament.

Zanshin 残心

Zanshin 残心 is a term used in the Japanese martial arts. It refers to a state of awareness - a state of relaxed alertness. The literal translation is remaining mind.
